We want more..tell us when you became a parrothead and why you joined the TBPH

club—

Ok, ok... Twist my arm :)

Well, There I was. It was my second tour in Iraq. I remembered how the first time I was here, I read a Pirate Looks at Fifty. I would sit in the sand and pretend like I was on the beach, and that book saved my sanity. I wrote Jimmy a letter to tell him how much I loved him and his music, but somewhere along the way, the letter was lost. When I went home after I got back, I made a stop at Margaritaville in Orlando, and waited for 2 and a half hours to get a table. My husband and I had the best time of our lives. When I found out that I was coming back for round two, I could hardly believe it. So, I brought my newest, latest and greatest... A Salty Piece of Land!

But that wasnt enough. I did a little google search and found out that the largest PH flock was in Tampa! A little E-mail to Queen Moma Vera, and well, here I am. I have made so many new phriends that I havent even met, but hopefully will get a chance to meet everyone in person. I cant wait!!!

As far as becoming a Parrothead... I grew up on Jimmy Buffet music. I guess you could say I was born into it. I remember being a little girl and seeing my Dad's hat that had a big parrot on top of it and not knowing what it was, or why there was a parrot on it, but when it comes down to it, all I had to do was put 2 and 2 together, and one day, I figured it all out. I always loved Jimmys music. You know how it is... everyone knows 'Cheeseburger in Paradise' whether you are a PH or not. That is how everyone starts out... but then as you start wanting more, you know that it sets you apart from the rest of the world. As I get older, his music means more and more to me. Something happens in my life, and I say to myself "Oh, that is what he was talking about" It is a way of life I suppose.
