name - LaDonna Alvarez
you know me as - Lasagna or Hippie Chick
marital status - single
flocked from - Texas! Houston, actually....(Galveston Bay IS a whole 'nuther world)
favorite JB tune -
Migration. Since I spent the first 25
years of my life in Texas and the rest here
in sunny Florida, I truly do have a Caribbean Soul I can
barely control and some
Texas hidden here in my heart...unless you've seen my tattoo (and who hasn't
then you know where I've really hidden Texas - giggles
favorite JB CD - License to Chill (until the next one comes out)
other music - Sure! I will play for gumbo (but not rap!)
hobbies -
work, work, work....but my boss(es) aren't
jerks - I'm lucky enough to work for
2 Parrotheads. Just like Jimmy - I work (at Wild Time in John's Pass) on
Tuesdays,
Thursdays and Saturdays (plus Friday night & Sundays). Great job - I get to
listen
to Bubba all day. I have a day job just to keep me out of trouble - hey, you
can't
get Jimmy's schedule without working at it!
what do you drink? either beer or Rum & diet, plus the occasional jellyfish (Vern!)
likes? Just about everything that's good - which in this club - is a LOT
dislikes? mean people and folks that lie or otherwise don't keep their word
favorite buffettism - Good God Almighty I'm a piece of work!
Why I became a parrothead and why I joined the TBPH club –
I became a parrothead the first time I heard Jimmy sing "Presents to Send You" back in 1975 on A1A - then when he sang about Dallas (he has the same view of that fine city as I do) I was hooked! I've been trying to catch a peek behind Door #3 every since. As far as joining the club - it's been several years back. I was invited to a scavenger hunt at the Country Palace (what a great scene for a bunch of gypsies). I met Queen Vera and Nana Babe there for the first time, along with Lady Di and of course, Harry and Sarah Sunshine. When I was offered the communion banana slice, I knew I'd found a 'home'. This club has seen me through a lot and I've made a lot of friends to last a lifetime!
