We want more..tell us when you became a parrothead and why you joined
the TBPH club—
When I was in the army in 1976 a friend of mine asked me to jam with him
at a bar..the song we played was “Come Monday”….been a parrothead ever
since but the funny thing is..only till about 2 yrs ago I thought the
line was "brownally haze"(brown LA haze)...then a few years ago I placed
a personal ad which said i was looking for a parrot head..A woman
responded to me from Ft Laud...said she was with the Barefoot Children
Club and asked me if I was ever in the local club..i told her I didn’t
know Parrotheads actually had a club and she directed me to our
web-site. I was going to join the 3rd odd Weds of July but had read that
it was PJ nite..figured I didnt want to be attacked by crazies in
G-Strings and who knows what so I went to Stormans the following week.
Met Moma Parrot that night. Got a BIG HUG (you know the ones) and found
out she and Stud Muffin were from the same area of Long Island that I
was from..they made me feel welcome in a fruitcake kinda way and the
fruitcake way of life is what I had been searching for...Kinda fit..ya
know?
That was 4 yrs ago and have been a member
ever since..and have had a blast doing it!!
